Ducati Multistrada V4 RS Listed on Official Website; India Launch Imminent?

Following the reveal of its most powerful product in the Multistrada line-up, Ducati has officially listed the Multistrada V4 RS on its India website, signaling a potential launch in the near future. This highly anticipated adventure motorcycle is set to elevate the standards with its impressive specifications and cutting-edge technology.

Engine and Performance

Ducati At the heart of the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is the potent 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, which is also featured in other high-performance models such as the Panigale V4 and the Streetfighter V4. This liquid-cooled powerhouse is mated to a six-speed gearbox and features Ducati's STM Evo-SBK dry clutch for superior handling. The same air filter used in the Ducati Panigale V4 R is also incorporated in this model. Delivering 180bhp at 12,250rpm, the Multistrada V4 RS surpasses the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak in terms of power output, although it has a slightly lower torque of 118Nm compared to Pikes Peak's 125Nm.

Chassis and Build

Ducati The Multistrada V4 RS takes pride in its robust yet lightweight architecture. It features a titanium rear sub-frame that is approximately 2.5kg lighter than the standard sub-frame used in other Multistrada V4 models. The main frame is constructed from an aluminum monocoque, making this fourth-generation Multistrada the lightest ever produced by Ducati.

Suspension and Brakes

Ducati When it comes to suspension, the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS doesn't disappoint. It boasts 48mm fully adjustable front forks with titanium nitride (TIN) coating, and a TTX36 fully adjustable rear monoshock, both sourced from Ohlins. The Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 system ensures comprehensive electronic suspension adjustment for a customized riding experience. The braking system is equally impressive, featuring dual 330mm discs at the front with Brembo Stylema monobloc four-piston calipers and a single 265mm disc at the rear with a Brembo two-piston caliper. Additionally, the motorcycle includes a single-sided aluminum swingarm and rides on 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminum wheels. Ducati has also reduced weight by eliminating the bulky pillion grab handle and top box mounting bracket in favor of a technopolymer tail section.

Electronic Aids and Riding Modes

Ducati The Multistrada V4 RS is laden with an array of advanced electronic aids. These include traction control, wheelie control, launch control, engine brake control, and four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low). It also features a bi-directional quickshifter, radar-assisted adaptive cruise control, and four riding modes (Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban). For optimal performance, a Full Power Mode is also available.

Pricing and Competition

Ducati In terms of pricing, the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is expected to be positioned above the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, which currently retails for Rs 31.48 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its arrival in the Indian market, it will compete with formidable rivals such as the BMW M 1000 XR.

Porsche has announced two separate recalls specific 911 models

Porsche recalls two separate recalls specific 911 models caused by a error. A fix is planned via a software update, with notifications by April

2025 Porsche 911 Recall: Headlight Glare Issue Porsche_911 The first recall involves 878 units of the 2025 Porsche 911. A software error in the front-end electronics control module may cause the low beam headlights to produce glare for oncoming traffic. This issue arises when the rear fog light is activated at speeds below 60 km/h (37 mph), causing a slight misalignment in the driver's side low beam. Porsche plans to address this by updating the software, with owner notifications expected in early to mid-April. 2023 Porsche 911 Recall: Rear Seat Belt Bolt Concern Porsche_911 The second recall affects 279 units of the 2023 Porsche 911. In these vehicles, rear seat belt buckle bolts may not have been properly tightened due to mispositioned aluminum butyl mats during certain production shifts. This could lead to the bolts loosening over time, potentially compromising seat belt effectiveness in a collision. Porsche will inspect and, if necessary, tighten the rear seat belt buckle bolts and reposition the soundproofing mats. Owners will be notified in April.
