Among the recently spotted test units of updated Pulsars is the N160, which featured USD front forks, indicating that it is undergoing a slight design improvement. However, Bajaj is not just stopping at the Pulsar N160; other vehicles in the Pulsar N range, as well as the NS range, are also getting updates.
In addition to enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the bike, the USD telescopic front forks provide increased chassis rigidity, promising better handling dynamics. Presently, the N range represents Pulsar’s youngest lineup, having the most room for future innovations. This current lineup includes the 150cc N150, the 160cc N160 and the 250cc N250 offerings.
With Bajaj teasing new updates to its Pulsar N range, it’s reasonable to assume that they will be uniformly incorporated across all the N bikes – the N150, N160, and N250. These updates chiefly comprise USD front telescopic forks for improved manoeuvrability, especially around bends.
The company is also hinting at incorporating call alerts and notification display on the instrument cluster. Looking at how advanced these teasers seem, there might be provision for a TFT display similar to the new Chetak model, equipped with improved switchgear. But besides call and notification alerts, features such as navigation have not been hinted at. Therefore, we can likely expect the addition of basic Bluetooth functionalities to the existing instrument cluster.
The probable scenario is Bajaj incorporating a new instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling basic call and notification alerts, similar to Yamaha's offerings. Although the recent test bikes confirm the presence of USD telescopic front forks, they don't validate the presence of Chetak's Digi Screen.
Previously, there was a spotting of a Pulsar NS160 test unit that displayed improved switchgear and camouflaged instrument cluster. The switchgear enhancement by Bajaj only includes the addition of a hazard light switch, rather than the full range of new buttons provided in the new Chetak range. Thus, it is possible that the Pulsar N range might receive certain additional features, given that it’s a newer range in comparison to the NS line-up.
In terms of mechanics, Bajaj is not expected to make any alterations to the engines or transmissions. All models of the Pulsar NS (NS 160 and NS200) and Pulsar N (N150, N160 and N250) are likely to retain the powertrains as in the current models.
