Unveiling of Tata Curvv at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024

Unveiling of Tata Curvv at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 saw the unveiling of the Tata Curvv, which is slated to hit the market in the months to come. According to industry insiders, there will be at least three powertrain alternatives available for this model. The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, which kicked off recently, featured the unveiling of the Tata Curvv. This vehicle, which has previously been showcased in various stages of development, is now fully prepared to roll out into the markets in the next few months. The new features of the Tata Curvv The Tata Curvv signifies the first major product launch of the year for Tata Motors. It stands out from the crowd because of its sharp-looking front and unique coupe-like roofline, distinguishing it from taller SUVs such as the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara and Hyryder, among others. Patent images that appeared recently provided people a sneak peek into the final design of the Curvv, and its unveiling at the Expo confirmed that its design has remained largely unchanged from the version shown at last year’s Auto Expo, barring a few minor modifications. The LED light bar on the Curvv now extends even further and bears a striking resemblance to the one on the Nexon facelift. The grille now features a blend of piano black and body colour finish rather than being completely body coloured. The new front bumper also houses new headlamp and foglamp fittings similar to the Harrier and Safari facelifts, along with an additional air vent between the grille and the license plate housing. The bumper also features a larger air intake with a prominent faux skid plate. On the sides, the wing mirrors are door mounted and the Curvv carries forward the design of flush door handles from its predecessors. At the rear end, the tinted LED light bar and tail-lamps have been given a production-ready look. Vertical air inlets on the rear bumper also serve as additional reflectors. Some other features visible from the images released include a full LED light setup, specific to the top models, along with a 360-degree camera and 18-inch alloy wheels. Tata Curvv: Size, Powertrain Alternatives With its 4,308mm length, 1,810mm width and 1,630mm height, the Curvv fits right into the midsize SUV segment. Its 2,560mm wheelbase and 422-litre boot capacity only enhance its appeal. The Curvv is set to offer multiple powertrain alternatives. Sources indicate that the Curvv EV will be the initial sales variant, giving it a head start over similar vehicles in the segment like the upcoming Creta EV. The Curvv EV is also expected to compete against Maruti and Toyota’s yet-to-be-released electric SUVs. Besides the EV, Tata will offer fuel-based versions of the Curvv as well, carrying both petrol and diesel engines. The display model at the event runs on diesel, reportedly utilising Nexon’s 1.5-litre diesel engine. This iteration will be released after the launch of the Curvv EV. Subsequently, a 125hp, 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, and a CNG variant would be made available. As for transmission, customers can look forward to an interesting mix of manual, AMT, and double-clutch transmission (DCT automatic) choices, dependent on the powertrain. In terms of production and launch in India, the Curvv EV is scheduled to hit the assembly lines around April this year at the Tata Motors’ plant in Ranjangaon, near Pune. Tata Motors has set an ambitious annual sales target of around 48,000 units for the Curvv SUV, anticipating a contribution of approximately 12,000 units from the Curvv EV alone. In related news, Tata Nexon's iCNG reveal is eagerly awaited, while the Tata Altroz has been spotted undergoing tests recently. The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 has also seen the notable reveal of the Tata Punch EV. All these recent developments, one after another, speak volumes about Tata Motors' commitment to ensuring its position as India's most valued automaker by the market capitalisation.

2025 Jawa 42 FJ Spotted Testing with New Single Exhaust Design Update

The 2025 Jawa 42 FJ has been spotted undergoing testing, revealing a notable design update: the transition from a dual exhaust system to a single exhaust setup.

Streamlined Exhaust Design 2025_Jawa_42_FJ_01 Recent spy images indicate the absence of the left-side exhaust, suggesting a shift to a single exhaust configuration. While the right-side exhaust is not clearly visible, it's possible that the motorcycle may feature an underbelly exhaust system. This change aligns with the retro-inspired aesthetics of the Jawa 42 FJ, which includes elements like a circular headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and broad rear fender. Performance and Handling Enhancements 2025_Jawa_42_FJ_01 Adopting a single exhaust system offers several benefits Weight Reduction: Eliminating one exhaust pipe reduces the motorcycle's overall weight, enhancing agility and maneuverability. Improved Power-to-Weight Ratio: A lighter bike improves the power-to-weight ratio, potentially leading to better acceleration and handling. Cost Efficiency: Simplifying the exhaust system can lower production costs without compromising performance. The 2025 Jawa 42 FJ is expected to retain its 334cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine, delivering 29.17 PS of power and 29.62 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Additional Observations Beyond the exhaust modification, the motorcycle maintains its classic design elements. Notably, the seat appears to have been shortened, and the tail section revised, giving the bike a more bobber-like appearance.
