Speculation Grows Over Possible New Renault Duster Camper Version Following Image Release

Speculation Grows Over Possible New Renault Duster Camper Version Following Image Release

Renault’s Dacia, one of Europe's top brands, might be considering a lifestyle appeal by developing a camper version of the new Duster, sharing the same powertrain and 4x4 equipment with the standard model. Dacia is renowned for its wide range of popular vehicles, and Duster is no exception. The recently debuted new Duster model has introduced a fresh design language, hinting at what could be a new Duster camper version in development. This speculation arises from an image that has surfaced of a scale model. Featuring in one of Dacia's advertorials as part of its new brand debut, the image is not of a full-scale vehicle. Dacia has recently undergone a radical rebranding that has re-energized its image in target markets. The new Duster expected to reach under- Renault branding, is reflective of this rebranding. This ignited a discourse around the anticipation of a Duster Camper model. Dacia had previously launched a camping kit as an official accessory for the Jogger model in 2023, suggesting their interest in accommodating customers with adventurous lifestyles. Considering the significant rise in the popularity of campervans post the Covid-19 pandemic, the conception of a Duster Camper model fits perfectly. The image showing the proposed camper model presents a robust and commanding vehicle. It features a short bonnet and a steeply inclined windscreen, giving room for extra space. The glass between the C and D pillars is replaced with sheet metal, which could potentially house a portable restroom space or shower area. Additonally, it has significant ground clearance with large wheels and robust bash plates, radiating the appeal of an off-roader. In comparison to other Dacia products, the Duster stands out in aspects of sheer presence. Marketing the camper under the sub-brand of Duster would be logical, capitalizing on its established popularity and off-road capability. Dacia previously sold a Duster single-cab pickup truck under the Renault brand in some European markets. With the new striking design language, the large DC logo, impressive LED DRLs , and large alloy wheels , it adds an SUV-like allure to the minivan-looking vehicle. The black cladding around the vehicle offsets the visual weight and enhances its rugged appeal, measuring over 5 meters in length and a wheelbase of over 3 meters. This new Renault Duster Camper model could accommodate a modular living space, with arrangements for sleeping and kitchen amenities. The powertrain and 4x4 equipment are likely to be borrowed from the new Duster model, yet to be launched in several markets. This feature would ensure the camper's suitability for various terrains.

Tata Motors to Launch Three New Models in the Coming Months

Tata Motors to Launch Three New Models in the Coming Months

In 2024, Tata Motors plans to launch 3 new models in India, including a Nexon variation, an enhanced Altroz, and all-new Curvv, its first new model.

In 2024, Tata Motors plans to continue its strong performance by introducing at least three new models to the Indian market. These additions will include a variation of the Nexon line and an enhanced model of the Altroz. Furthermore, the company's first completely new model in three years, the Curvv, is set to launch this year. the Nexon iCNG The Nexon range is scheduled for expansion via the introduction of a CNG-powered variant dubbed the Nexon iCNG. This expansion marks another pioneering effort by Tata, following their introduction of the country's first CNG-automatic models— the Tiago and Tigor iCNG—with AMTs (Automated Manual Transmission). The Nexon iCNG was also featured in this year's Bharat Mobility Expo. the Nexon iCNG The engine specifications of the Nexon iCNG remain the same as its standard, retail counterparts— a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine. Standard models will feature a manual gearbox, but it is anticipated that an AMT option will also be made available. Pricing for the Nexon iCNG is projected to be approximately Rs 1 lakh higher than the petrol variant. Altroz Racer Next in the pipeline is the launch of the Altroz Racer, Tata's equivalent to the Hyundai i20 N Line. A sportier rendition of the existing Altroz model, the Altroz Racer was previously revealed in an auto expo. It has since been seen undergoing tests, which appear to confirm the details of this high-performance version. The upgraded Altroz model maintains the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine as its Altroz iTurbo predecessor but boasts 120 horsepower— a 10 horsepower increase. It also features a 6-speed manual gearbox (up from the iTurbo's 5-speed). The model appears to retain the original Altroz's orange and black dual-tone paint scheme, as well as its alloy wheels. Altroz Racer The premium Altroz Racer will offer unique feature enhancements such as dual racing stripes, 'Racer' badges, and modifications to the grille. It will also boast a suite of features including a new 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats (a segment first), a 360-degree camera, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a voice-activated sunroof, and a heads-up display. the Curvv Tata's greatly anticipated mid-size SUV model, the Curvv, is slated for release later this year. It will initially launch as an EV, based on Tata's Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture and offering a range of around 450-500 km. This makes the all-electric Curvv a potential strong competitor to rivals such as the Creta EV, Maruti eVX, and Toyota's derivative of Maruti's EV. Petrol and diesel variants of the Curvv are expected to follow, with production scheduled to commence around September. They are forecast to launch in either the last quarter of 2024 or early-2025. The petrol-powered Curvv will utilize a new 125 horsepower, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo engine and offer manual and automatic transmission options. The diesel Curvv will likely share the Nexon's 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine coupled with 6-speed manual and AMT transmissions. A CNG version of the Curvv is also expected to be released later on. the Curvv Noteworthy features anticipated in the Curvv include state-of-the-art technology like a 360-degree camera, 10.25-inch infotainment and driver display screens, along with cooled seats. However, it is not yet known if ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) will be part of the offering. While Tata Motors had a successful 2023, launching several new vehicles with a strong sales performance, this year's line-up will test the brand's resonance with the Indian market, especially given the unique coupe-like roofline of the Curvv.
