Skoda has announced plans to revise the Octavia for global markets in 2024. A teaser video providing a glimpse of the upcoming Octavia Facelift has been made public. It’s worth noting that this will mark the first significant update since the launch of the fourth-generation Octavia back in 2020.
The latest teaser video offers a sneak preview of the Octavia Facelift's revamped aesthetic. The video makes it clear that the Octavia facelift will sport a fresh set of LED headlamps, a redesigned grille, and minor tweaks to the bumpers. While the overall shape of the vehicle is likely to stay consistent, there are expectations of a fresh look for the alloy wheels.
The rear of the car will also feature a new set of LED tail lamps and subtle changes to the body panels.
Inside the vehicle, passengers will find a new colour scheme and upholstery, although the cabin layout will largely stay the same. The revised model will also feature a larger infotainment system and additional features lifted from Skoda's new-generation Superb and Kodiaq models.
When it comes to what lies beneath the bonnet, the international model will be offered with several powertrain options, including 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engines. These will be paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. In India, the current-generation Octavia was discontinued in April of last year as the sedan did not meet stringent BS6.2 emissions standards. However, Skoda had previously expressed interest in launching a performance-oriented Octavia RS245 Hybrid for the domestic market.
There are, however, ongoing rumours suggesting that Skoda might reintroduce the standard Octavia in its facelifted form to the Indian market. If these rumours prove accurate, we can expect the updated sedan to make its appearance towards the end of 2024.
