The anticipated restyling of the Hyundai Alcazar for 2024 is reportedly undergoing testing in its home nation of South Korea, with its official release in India is expected by the end of the same year. After a successful launch of the facelifted Hyundai Creta earlier in 2024, the Korean car manufacturer is now gearing towards the unveiling of the upgraded Alcazar, a three-row Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
Spy images have shown that the Alcazar, heavily camouflaged during testing, will sport some revised exterior features to distinguish it from the Creta facelift. Some identifiable changes include an all-new grille accompanied by an LED daytime running light strip located above it, harking back to common Hyundai design elements. Additionally, the rear end is predicted to boast vertically aligned LED tail lamps that further differentiates it from the recent Creta model, while still retaining the dual-tip exhaust system of the current Alcazar.
While the exact cabin design remains cloaked, it's speculated to embrace the updated dashboard layout of its sibling, the new Creta. The restyled Hyundai Alcazar should continue to be available in both 6- and 7-seat configurations. Another expected inclusion is a dual display system consisting of a pair of 10.25-inch screens, one functioning as an instrumentation display, the other serving as an infotainment interface.
Hyundai could possibly equip the 2024 Alcazar with the Creta’s dual-zoned air conditioning system. Safety facilities on board should feature six airbags, an electronic stability control mechanism (ESC), a 360-degree imaging system, and an advanced suite of driver assistance systems (ADAS) from the Creta offering features such as autonomous collision prevention and adjustable cruise control.
As for power trains, it is expected that Hyundai will maintain the same range of engine-gearbox options for the new Alcazar as in the previous version. There will be a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel variant, providing 160 PS and 253 Nm torque, and 116 PS and 250 Nm torque respectively.
As for the cost, early indicators hint at a starting price tag of approximately Rs 17 lakh for the restyled Alcazar model, with the current model ranging from Rs 16.77 lakh to Rs 21.28 lakh. Hyundai’s spruced up 2024 Alcazar, like its predecessor, will likely be a rival to Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and the MG Hector Plus.
