Honda has recently unveiled the facelift edition of its City Hatchback in Thailand, following up with an appearance at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show of 2024. The newly upgraded version of the City Hatchback features a range of enhancements both functional and aesthetic, including the inauguration of a new e:HEV hybrid variant and refinements to the Honda Sensing suite. The design of the front fascia has been revamped, with alterations to the bumper and grille. The chrome addition appears slimmer and a new mesh insert design has been added. Notably, there is a varietal differentiation in the style of the front bumper accents. For instance, the RS versions feature a honeycomb mesh on the lower intake. This variant also stands out for its more pronounced fog lamp garnishing, granting it a unique appeal as opposed to other variants. For the back end, RS models now feature a sleeker diffuser, black side mirror covers, and unique emblems varying with the specific variant. Standard non-RS models feature a modified lower apron featuring a new black valance, fashioned with a body-coloured panel strip. Colour and paint updates are exclusively available for the RS models. New options include Ignite Red Metallic and Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, both with Black Roofs. Previous colours carried forward include Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Sonic Gray Pearl, Platinum White Pearl and Tafetta White. However, the last two colours are only available for certain models (e: HEV RS, e:HEV SV, RS and SV only for the Platinum White Pearl and S+ only for the Tafetta White). Turning to the interior of the City Hatchback, no significant changes have been made. Minor tweaks include replacing the 12V power outlet for rear passengers with USB-C charging ports in e:HEV variants in addition to the introduction of a small inner pocket integrated behind the front seats, intended for phone storage. Safety features have been bolstered with an electronic parking brake and a new Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN). In terms of Honda Sensing attributes, the lineup remains the same, offering Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Auto High-Beam (AHB), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). Concerning the pricing and variants of the City Hatchback facelift, the base spec S+ model is priced at 599,000 baht (around Rs 13.73 lakh). The SV model comes in at 679,000 baht (Rs 15.57 lakh), and the RS model costs 749,000 baht (Rs 17.17 lakh). All the mentioned iterations are powered by a 1.0-litre gasohol-compliant compliant turbo petrol engine, producing 122 PS of max power and 173 Nm of peak torque, mated to a CVT. The facelift e-HEV hybrid range of the City Hatchback welcomes a new SV model, with a price of 729,000 baht (Rs 16.71 lakh). Meanwhile, the top-tier e:HEV RS has been reduced by 50,000 baht, and is now available for 799,000 baht (Rs 18.32 lakh). The e-HEV models are equipped with Honda's advanced Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system, incorporating a primary electric traction motor and a 1.5 litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine. The electric engine can generate up to 109 PS and 253 Nm, passing this power through a single-speed transmission. The petrol engine is capable of producing 98 PS and 127 Nm, either being used to generate electricity to recharge the battery or to transfer mechanical drive when the vehicle is moving at higher speeds.
