Honda Issues Recall for Gold Wing GL1800 and CBR1000RR Motorcycles in India Due to Faulty Fuel Pump

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recalls CBR1000RR Fireblade and Gold Wing GL1800 due to fuel pump flaw, prioritizing rider safety.

In a recent development, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has issued a recall for two of its premium motorcycle models in India — the CBR1000RR and the Gold Wing GL1800. This decision was necessitated due to a flaw in the fuel pump fitted into these motorcycles. Specifically, it seems the bikes, including the CBR1000RR Fireblade and the Gold Wing GL1800, might abruptly halt during motion due to the malfunctioning fuel pumps, creating a hazardous situation especially at high velocities. This important safety measure comes close on the heels of Honda’s global recall of over 20,000 units of the Gold Wing, the CBR1000RR Fireblade, and the CBR 600 RR. CBR1000RR_GoldWing_GL1800 In more detail, this most recent Honda recall in India pertains to the CBR1000RR units that were constructed between September 2017 and April 2020 and the Gold Wing GL1800 models that were manufactured from December 2017 to December 2023. The problem, Honda explained, originated from the fuel pump impellers which might have been the result of an incorrect mould. The fuel pump could fail or become distorted as a consequence of this moulding defect, causing the motorcycle to stop. Importantly, the exact number of units affected by this recall has yet to be clarified by Honda. CBR1000RR_GoldWing_GL1800 Nevertheless, Honda has assured affected customers that they will be offered free fuel pump inspections and replacements, irrespective of whether their motorcycles are still under warranty or not. They also plan to notify the owners of these affected motorcycles through their premium BigWing dealerships. The company has estimated that this replacement procedure will take roughly an hour to complete. Users can verify if their bikes are part of this recall by inputting their VIN onto the Honda BigWing India website. CBR1000RR_GoldWing_GL1800 The Gold Wing GL1800, which is included in this recall, is powered by a 1,833cc, 4-stroke, 24-valve, liquid-cooled flat-six engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT). In terms of power, it delivers 125bhp at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 170Nm at 4,500rpm. It comes with various high-end tech features including a 7.0-inch color TFT screen, Bluetooth and USB Type-C connectivity, an airbag, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a gyrocompass-equipped navigation system, and more. It is also equipped with several riding aids including four ride modes (Touring, Sport, Econ, and Rain) alongside a Throttle-by-Wire system, an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), a Dual Combined Brake System (D-CBS), and an HSA among others. CBR1000RR_GoldWing_GL1800 On the other hand, the CBR1000RR, known for superior power and performance, comes fitted with a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine capable of generating a maximum power of 215bhp along with 113Nm of top torque. This impressive litre-class motorcycle is capable of a top speed of 300km/h. Apart from this, it features a diamond aluminum frame and is equipped with several electronic systems including three riding modes, a Bosch six-axis IMU, keyless ignition, and a 5-inch color TFT display, among others. In the Indian market, it competes with top class bikes such as the Yamaha YZF-R1, the Suzuki GSX-R1000R, the Kawasaki ZX-10RR, the Ducati Panigale V4 S, and the BMW S 1000 RR. Honda's commitment to maintaining the highest possible quality and safety standards for its consumers can be traced in its proactive decision to conduct this recall. However, the volume of units possibly affected by this recall within India remains to be confirmed by the company. Regardless, owners of the specified models should heed the advice and have their motorcycles checked and replaced, if required, to ensure their own safety.

Grand_i10_Nios A number of fresh features are added to this variant, distinguishing it from the Nios Magna. Review and Impressions of the Affordable Volvo XC40 Recharge Electric SUV

Review and Impressions of the Affordable Volvo XC40 Recharge Electric SUV

Discover the Volvo XC40 Recharge Single Motor, a new electric SUV offering from Volvo in India. Explore its features and benefits independently.

Introducing the Volvo XC40 Recharge Single Motor, the most recent addition to Volvo's product range in India. This electric SUV comes at a lower price point and has less power than its twin motor counterpart, and as suggested by the name, carries just a single motor mounted on the rear axle. Despite the scaled down features, the savings for buyers is just around Rs 3 lakh, leading to a challenging task for Volvo sales teams to divert prospective buyers from the Twin Motor model. Nevertheless, this article examines the Single Motor SUV on its own merits rather than through a comparison. Volvo_XC40_Recharge_Single Delving into the powertrain and drive experience, the model boasts peak power and torque of 238hp and 420Nm, offering moderate performance that suits this category of electric vehicles (EVs). The driving experience prioritizes ease over intensity, presenting a comfortable and pleasant ride. Volvo aims to tap into the market of buyers who prefer their EVs to be straightforward and easy to navigate, rather than offering high-speed thrills.

The interior of the Single Motor is equally appealing as the external design. Despite the reduced features, there's no appearance of it being an inferior version of the XC40 Recharge. The cabin is comfortable, providing a secure feeling, with decent quality. The front seats are comfortable and roomy enough for two at the back, although the backrest is a bit upright. One compromise is that large suitcases require removing the spare tyre positioned on the floor. Volvo_XC40_Recharge_Single With regards to features, the Single Motor lacks some elements compared to other models. The Pixel LED headlights, 360-degree camera, and the Harman Kardon sound system are not included. However, it still offers a plethora of features such as dual-zone climate control with an air purifier, digital dials, a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof and a powered tailgate. The safety kit also includes seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and a comprehensive range of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) functions, which consist of emergency braking and lane keep assist. Volvo_XC40_Recharge_Single To judge the vehicle's power, the Single Motor gets its energy from a 69kWh battery pack giving a World Harmonised Light Vehicle Testing Procedure (WLTP) range of 475km. However, for regular driving, you can expect a range of around 350-380km. Charging can be either through standard AC home charging, or quicker DC charging up to 150kW. Comparatively, the Twin Motor has a 78kWh battery that gives a WLTP range of 505km. Volvo_XC40_Recharge_Single In conclusion, the Volvo XC40 Recharge Single Motor is a likable vehicle offering a blend of the best aspects of EVs and typical Volvo features. However, its appeal wavers when compared to the XC40 Recharge Twin Motor which costs slightly more but significantly outperforms the Single Motor in terms of power, performance, and equipment. Thus, while the Single Motor stands a respectable choice in isolation, when seen against the Twin Motor, it becomes evident that the latter is more desirable.

Introducing the 6th Gen Toyota 4Runner: A Close Sibling to the New Hilux

Introducing the 6th Gen Toyota 4Runner: A Close Sibling to the New Hilux

The robust 6th-gen Toyota 4Runner blends off-road prowess with distinctive style. Coming soon to North America, it shares traits with potential

The latest generation of Toyota's iconic 4X4, the 4Runner, is set to hit the North American market soon. Known for its robust off-road capabilities and distinct style, the 4Runner's sixth generation model sees the SUV significantly updated in both design and technical aspects. Noteworthy is the vehicle's close resemblance with the recently introduced Tacoma pickup, rumored to arrive in India under the Hilux moniker. theToyota_4Runner The long-anticipated 6th Gen 4Runner shares most of its features with the newly unveiled Tacoma. Notably, the front fascia of the 4Runner, while not entirely identical to that of the Tacoma, showcases several striking similarities. Key overlapping features include the design of the grille and bumper, the headlamps, and the flared wheel arches – giving the 4Runner an appearance that's like a bigger Tacoma version. One eye-catching and crucial change in the 6th Gen Toyota 4Runner is the increased wheel track, allowing for the presence of 265/70-18 tires that are 33 inches tall. Complementing this shift is an extended wheelbase, moving from 2,789 mm to 2,849 mm, to accommodate the larger tires. If it sounds familiar, it's because these dimensions align with models like the Land Cruiser and Lexus LX. theToyota_4Runner The 4Runner also pays tribute to its predecessors. Specifically, its back window has a slight upward curve that flows seamlessly into the roof, reminiscent of the first and second-generation models. On the back, bold design features like C-shaped LED tail lights, a large roof spoiler, and muscular rear haunches command attention. The external equipment varies with trim levels. For those favoring more lifestyle-oriented trims such as the TRD Pro or the Trailhunter, you are bound to find one that suits your style, whether it's the hard-core off-road setup of the former or the overlanding style of the latter. As for those who prefer a luxury touch, the Platinum trim might be the choice. theToyota_4Runner The Trailhunter is packed with additional features for overland-style off-road expeditions including more robust rock sliders than its TRD Pro counterpart, a roof rack, a snorkel, and bash plates. Meanwhile, the TRD Pro favours high-speed trails and is fitted with Fox QS3 dampers with adjustable compression. Inside, the SUV maintains the trend of borrowing from its Tacoma cousin. It shares a host of features like the dashboard layout, instrument cluster, and center console. Top-range trims will also include a 14-inch infotainment screen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as a fully digital instrument screen. theToyota_4Runner The current model of the 4Runner offers third-row seating, and it's expected the 6th Gen will also come with this option. However, the hybrid models of the new 4Runner house the batteries where the third-row seats would usually be, suggesting hybrid variants may only come with two rows of seats. Under the hood, Toyota is offering a 2.4L i-Force 4-cyl Turbo engine with a peak power production of 278 bhp. In addition, higher trims will feature Toyota's 2.4L i-Force MAX hybrid powertrain that promises a total system output of 326 bhp. Both engines outperform the 4Runner's earlier 4.0L V6 petrol and 5-speed auto combination. theToyota_4Runner It's noteworthy to mention that the revealing of the 6th Gen 4Runner sparks speculation about the likely design of the next-generation Fortuner in India. For now, both auto enthusiasts and potential consumers wait in anticipation for the exciting arrival of the latest 4Runner in the coming months. Image Source

Upcoming Release: 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 Teaser and Anticipated Updates

Upcoming Release: 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 Teaser and Anticipated Updates

Bajaj revamps its Pulsar lineup, enhancing popular models like NS125, NS160, and NS200, with updates for N150, N160, N250, and F250 on the horizon

Bajaj is currently in full gear, updating its popular Pulsar range, which happens to be the top contributor to the company’s overall two-wheeler sales. This year, models such as Pulsar NS125, NS160, and NS200, along with top-spec versions of Pulsar N150 and N160, got updated. Currently, the company is poised to freshen up the biggest Pulsars, N250 and F250, a piece of information that is not surprising given the ongoing road tests. Pulsar N250 The Pulsar N250 has thus far received positive feedback in terms of performance. However, when it comes to tech integrations, the N250, together with F250, both seem to lag. A case in point is the absence of a Bluetooth-based full digital instrument cluster, a feature that most bikes in the quarter-litre segment are already equipped with. This was seen as a result of Bajaj's intention to launch the flagship Pulsars at a more affordable price, likely compromising on certain premium features. Nevertheless, it seems like Bajaj is finally listening to its customers’ feedback and is poised to introduce new updates. Today’s riders are tech-savvy - they demand seamless connectivity at all times and expect their motorcycles to fit within this digital ecosystem. Bajaj acknowledged this enormous segment of users with the updated Pulsar NS200, which now comes with a Bluetooth-based digital instrument cluster. Pulser_F250_01 Now, expectations are high that the same digital instrument module will find its place in the Pulsar 250 twins. This feature will allow riders to sync their smartphones via the Bajaj Ride Connect App and access a wide range of functions, including calls, text messages, signal level, phone battery status, and turn-by-turn navigation. Another crucial update awaited by the Pulsar 250 admirers is the addition of USD forks, a feature that is already found in many motorcycles in this segment, including the Pulsar NS160 and NS200. There was a sense of disappointment as USD forks were not made available even as an optional feature. Looking forward, it's expected that with the inclusion of USD forks, the Pulsar 250 twins will deliver a more enhanced performance and safety. N250 As far as colours are concerned, the current Pulsar 250 range, which includes N250 and F250, is available only in Brooklyn Black. Despite its dominating aesthetic appeal, not all riders may fancy the black. A more diverse and vibrant colour palette, as well as some fresh, sportier graphics, can surely add more appeal to the Pulsar 250 twins. It's yet to be seen how Bajaj plans to address this aspect. Regarding performance, don't expect any change in the upgraded Pulsar N250 and F250. The bikes will continue to feature the existing 249.07 cc, single-cylinder 4 stroke, SOHC, 2 valve, oil-cooled, FI engine, delivering 24.5 PS of max power and 21.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine will remain linked to a constant mesh 5-speed gearbox. Most of the other hardware details will remain unchanged, including 300 mm front and 230 mm rear disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, rear monoshock suspension, 17-inch wheels, and 100/80 / 130/70 tubeless tyres. N250 However, the introduction of new features like USD forks and a Bluetooth-based digital instrument cluster will definitely push the price of Pulsar 250 twins upwards. Presently, the existing ABS models are available from Rs 1.50 lakh onwards.

Toyota Announces Launch of Hilux EV in 2025, Takes on Isuzu D-Max EV

Toyota Announces Launch of Hilux EV in 2025, Takes on Isuzu D-Max EV

Toyota Hilux gears up for its electric future as Toyota plans to unveil a fully electric variant to compete in the EV pickup market

The next phase in the evolutionary journey of the Toyota Hilux is set to occur by the end of next year when a fully electric variant is revealed. Noriaki Yamashita, president of Toyota Motor Thailand, unveiled the stepping up to fight emerging competitors in the EV pickup space, such as the D-Max EV from Isuzu that was announced at the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show. Hilux_EV_01 The forthcoming Hilux EV made its public debut as part of the Hilux Revo BEV concept in December 2022. It was stated by the company at the time that it would be roughly a year before the model was production-ready. Yet, the specific details, including information about the battery capacity, range, and power, remain under cover for now. Yamashita remained tight-lipped regarding whether the production of the Hilux EV would occur in Thailand or the pickup would be imported. Nonetheless, he stated that Toyota, a market-leading brand in Thailand, plans to distribute around a dozen early models of the Hilux EV around Pattaya, a famous tourist destination, to be tested out as a form of public transportation. Hilux_EV The competition from Isuzu, on the other hand, highlights what we could expect from the electric Toyota Hilux. D-Max EV comes with a 66.9kWh battery pack, delivering a combined power and torque output of 177hp and 325Nm respectively. This electric pickup from Isuzu also boasts an impressive payload capacity of 1,000kg and a towing capacity of 3,500kg. Toyota's electrification drive doesn't stop with Hilux. The automaker also showcased the Innova Crysta EV concept in Indonesia. However, no fixed timeline for production has been outlined for this model. Toyota, while remaining mostly coy about the technical specs of the upcoming Hilux EV, may possibly employ a standard 4WD system accentuated by a dual-battery setup, one in each axle. Hilux_EV As Toyota gears up to disrupt the electric pickup market with the Hilux EV, slated for a 2025 launch, competition from brands like Isuzu is only likely to increase. Hence, anticipation is mounting for further details and a glimpse into the technical underpinnings of what could become a game-changer in the electric vehicle industry. The thrill of watching industry heavyweights go head-to-head, coupled with innovative EV technology, bodes well for the future of automobiles. Image Source

Initially presented with the Midnight Star Purple shade in Malaysia, the colour scheme was later discontinued and replaced with a Glacier White shade with mesmerizing Cyan graphics across various parts of the bike including the headlamp cowl, front fender, side fairing, and fuel tank.

New Audi S3 Release: Featuring Significant Chassis Upgrades and 333hp

New Audi S3 Release: Featuring Significant Chassis Upgrades and 333hp

Discover Audi's latest release, the powerful Audi S3 with 333 horsepower. Get insights into its innovative features after the recent unveiling.

Audi has recently unveiled its new Audi S3 model which boasts a powerful engine with a horsepower of 333. This launch happened just a few months after the automotive manufacturer provided a sneak peek of the almost ready versions of the updated S3 Sportback and Sedan. The vehicles were presented with an eye-catching grey and orange camouflage. Recently, the automobile giant took the wraps off and detailed the innovative features of the newly launched model. new_Audi_S3 To the untrained eye, the new model looks strikingly similar to its predecessor. Despite the apparent resemblance, Audi claims they have adopted a more 'progressive' design for the revamped S3. The updates encompass both the hatch and the sedan variants. These changes comprise of a fresh single-frame grille featuring L-shaped flicks built into the vents. It also incorporates a simplified solution for the design of the brake ducts. The diffuser shape has been slightly modified, having two central channels. Additionally, Audi made the inevitable modification to the front LEDs, offering four customizable light signatures. However, one drawback is the removal of the traditional Sport Quattro-style trio of vents running beneath the bonnet's leading edge. new_Audi_S3 The excitement truly begins once the bonnet is lifted, revealing what's underneath. Audi has confirmed that the S3's 2.0-litre TFSI engine's potential has been increased to 333hp and 310lb ft torque. This enhancement is in line with the VW Golf R 20 Years edition and matches almost to the original 8P RS3’s output. The vehicle's engine response has been enhanced with the turbocharger's upgrade, maintaining constant rpm during low-to-medium acceleration. The somewhat sluggish seven-speed DSG from the earlier model has been refined, with shift times reduced by half when fully loaded for even more dynamic performance off-the-line. new_Audi_S3 In comparison to its predecessor, the S3 now boasts an electronic rear torque splitter differential from the RS3 and the Golf R Performance Pack. This is paired with a novel dynamic plus mode, enabling substantially more drive torque to the exterior rear wheel for a desired oversteer. Audi focused on enhancing the mechanical grip by integrating stiffer bearings for the wishbone suspension and an increase in negative camber. All versions come with S sport suspension, lowering the ride height by 15mm. High-end Vorsprung cars offer optional adaptive dampers as well. The brakes have also been improved, with an additional 4mm in the front featuring 357mm steel discs. new_Audi_S3 The interior hasn’t changed much overall, though it now showcases more of the vehicle's ambient lighting package. This illuminates the centre console and cup holders, a significant upgrade for those prone to spills. The door's interior armrest locating is made simpler courtesy of new cloth trim with 300 laser cuts for easier ambient light access. Another new feature is a drive selector which, not surprisingly, is also lit up. Moreover, Audi is presenting new colour options such as Ascari Blue, District Green, and Progressive Red for the new S3. Additionally, Daytona Grey comes with a matte finish for the first time. The pricing for the S3 Fastback and Saloon hasn't been revealed yet.
