Officially revealed by Hyundai is the redesigned i20 N Line for the European market production of which will begin soon. Contrasting from the facelifted Hyundai i20 N Line welcomed by the Indian market last year, the European-spec model offers not only a slightly different design but also features additional to those found in the India-spec model. Let's delve deeper into the distinction between the two versions of the i20 N Line. Examining the hatchback's front-end design, you'll notice subtle modifications that overall change the vehicle's aesthetics. The same design holds for the front grille, but it appears slightly larger in the European version. The primary disparity lies in the front bumper and the fog lamp housing - the European model offers a sleeker front bumper and a more triangular shaped fog lamp housing, in the absence of the red hues found on the Indian-spec version. From the side of the vehicle, an eye-catching change is the variation in the colour of the alloy wheels. While fairly the same in design, the European-spec i20 N Line burgers on pure black wheels, which at 17-inches are slightly larger than the India-spec's 16-inch ones. The side cladding also boasts a sportier look on the European hatchback. Turning to the back of the vehicle, discernable albeit minor changes are evident. For starters, the chunkier design of the European i20 N Line's rear bumper is coupled with air dams on either side. Interestingly, the chrome strip between the tail lights accompanying the Indian-spec model is absent in the European version, even though the light setup remains the same. Stepping inside the vehicle, the cabin harbours similar N Line specific features. However, there is a distinction in terms of the driver's display - the European model receives a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display mirror the Hyundai Creta's facelift, as opposed to the India-spec model's smaller semi-digital driver’s display. Safety gets an upgrade in the European version with the addition of ADAS - advanced driver aid program. This package encompasses features like adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, blind spot monitors, and parking assist in addition to lane-keep assist. Contrarily, the Indian model only touts minimal features such as ABS with EBD, 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a rear-view camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and hill-hold assistance. Under the hood, the European i20 N Line, although equipped with the same 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, receives a fuel efficiency boost thanks to the added 48V mild-hybrid tech. The peak torque also sees a slight increase - from 172 Nm to 200 Nm, while the peak power of 120 PS remains unchanged. In summary, we've highlighted key disparities between the India-spec and European-spec i20 N Line versions. Which model do you think is more appealing?
