First Look The 2024 Range Rover Sport SV with 635HP

First Look The 2024 Range Rover Sport SV with 635HP

The SVR boasts 635 hp and a more streamlined appearance. Undoubtedly, it remains the crowning achievement of Special Vehicle Operations'endeavors.

The all-new Range Rover Sport SV for 2024, made its debut recently, showcasing a sleeker design and a massive 635hp output. The model is seen as a reincarnation of the old SVR model, which according to Land Rover, was one of their most successful launches. So, is this new launch designed to be mild-mannered Dr. Jekyll or the wild Mr. Hyde? 2024 Range Rover Originally launched by the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team, the old SVR was popular due to its relatively straightforward design and development. It was a simple but effective transformation of the L494 Range Rover Sport chassis, supported by a powerful V8 engine. Visual decisions that were viewed as somewhat questionable did little to undermine its success. The vehicle managed to uphold its appeal and performance while offering relative comfort. The new Range Rover Sport SV, however, is a stark departure from its predecessor, starting with a major strategic shift. Land Rover is now more deeply integrating SVO’s work into its core business as part of a four-pillar strategy. This means that the new SV, with its classy design and upmarket interior, will have to fully adhere to the upscale Range Rover Sport branding. 2024 Range Rover The second area of difference is technical development. Land Rover has poured an extensive amount of resources into this vehicle's performance variant. This includes its hydraulically interlinked, height-adjustable, air-suspended chassis that replaces conventional anti-roll bars. The car exhibits dynamic body control characteristics, in part thanks to a system dubbed ‘6D Dynamics’. In spite of the model being relatively heavier due to these additions, the car's performance remains impressive. There are more enhancements under the wraps. The suspension geometry and fast steering ratio are new, and there’s also a novel rear subframe. These changes are intended to improve the car's agility while also catering to drivers who appreciate a more luxurious driving experience. 2024 Range Rover Under the hood, BMW's latest twin-turbocharged V8 engine powers the vehicle. It produces 105hp more than the P530 and 60hp more than the previous SVR model. This enormous power boost repositions the car from being a ‘party animal’ to a ‘Promethean monster’ in terms of performance. These changes do take a bit of getting used to for drivers who are more familiar with the SVR’s ‘get in and go’ feel. However, drivers familiar with performance SUVs such as the Urus or Cayenne may find the experience more familiar. 2024 Range Rover Regardless of any initial reservations, the SV’s ride quality is readily notable and adjustable. The comfortable ride is combined with agility and speed, providing a unique blend of comfort and performance that the original SVR lacked. With all of these enhancements, the new Sport SV is more aligned with a luxury, high-performance SUV, and therefore a bit pricier. Nonetheless, Land Rover reports that all 550 units of the first batch have been sold. Offering the ultimate Range Rover experience, the new Range Rover Sport SV will undoubtedly be an exciting model for those capable of getting behind its wheel. 2024 Range Rover The specifications for the new 2024 Range Rover Sport SV Edition One are as follows: Engine: 4,395cc twin-turbocharged V8 Transmission: 8-speed automatic, four-wheel drive Power (hp): 635@6,000-7,000rpm Torque (lb ft): 553@1,800-5,855rpm 0-62mph: 3.8 seconds Top speed: 180mph Weight: 2,485kg DIN MPG: 24.1 - 22.7 (option dependent) CO2: 267 - 282g/km (option dependent) Price: £171,460 Source

  • Emergency call (SOS)
  • Electronic parking brake with auto hold
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Reverse parking camera
  • Anti-theft device Additionally, the vehicle incorporates Toyota Safety Sense System's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include:
  • Blind spot monitor
  • Dynamic radar cruise control
  • Lane trace assist
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Pre-collision system
  • Automatic high beam These comprehensive safety measures underscore Toyota's commitment to ensuring both driver and pedestrian safety.
