Maruti is hoping that they will record 10,000 bookings of Jimny within a month. The waiting period for the Jimny 5 door is expected to increase by 1 year.
The new SUV will be called Jimny and will be a compact SUV with a length of 3,985mm, width of 1,645mm and height of 1,720mm. The car will now have a ground clearance of 210mm while kerb weight is set around 1,200 kgs thus making it about 100 kgs heavier than the 3-door version.
The Maruti Jimny 5-door will be powered by a 1.5 liter K15C DualJet petrol engine. It will be available in both manual and automatic transmission variants.
